About Warren Buffett

Warren Edward Buffett was born in 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska. As Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, he is widely considered the world's most successful long-term investor.

A student of Benjamin Graham, he began his career hunting for cheap "cigar butts" before Charlie Munger transformed his thinking: buy wonderful companies at fair prices and hold them forever. Since 1965, Berkshire's compounded annual gain has dramatically outpaced the S&P 500, earning Buffett the title of "Oracle of Omaha."

His core philosophy rests on two rules: Rule No. 1 — Never lose money. Rule No. 2 — Never forget Rule No. 1. His annual shareholder letters, written for over six decades, are considered the most valuable free investment education available.

"Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.
Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful."

— Warren Buffett
